Estes Park Ride

Audra and I decided it was about time for a nice get-away for a day. We jumped on the bike and headed up to Estes Park.

We started our morning out by leaving Falcon at 7:15am, riding up to Morrison to have breakfast at the Blue Cow. The Cow has a great "Morrison Scramble" and an order of 1 pancake will take care of two people. It certainly started our day out right. This is a pic of John and the bike outside of the Blue Cow.

After leaving Morrison, we rode up 93 until we escaped West into the mountains, up the canyon on CR72, riding up to Nederland. From Nederland, we rode North to Estes Park. In Estes we feasted at Ed's Cantina, a place we highly recommend! Pulling off the road, we shot this pic of Audra with Long's Peak in the background.

After leaving Estes, we rode down to Boulder, then back up to Nederland, over to Central City and across the interstate to Evergreen. From Evergreen we headed down the canyon back to Morrison and back home. This is a pic of Audra, with Barker Meadow Reservior, Nederland and Eldora Ski Slopes in the background.

I think Google maps calculated the trip at about 340 miles, but upon returning home, the odometer on the bike read, 362 miles. We were gone for 10.5 hours and actually on the bike for about 8 hours....averaging a nice little pace of 45 miles an hour. It was great to get out and smell the Pines as well as enjoy small-town, mountain life.
